The black foam part under the dashboard (no 19 below). It seems to be attached with three plastic rivets?
I want to remove it so I can replace my windscreen washer pump. Thanks Maurice

Under the plastiks are skrews.

Oh! Those aren't rivets, they're just covers...

So, if you have EZ power steering you can't remove the crash pad without removing the upper part of the steering column. Furthermore, the ECU also blocks access to the washer pump, and to dismount the ECU you need to remove the dashboard
An alternate approach could be to remove the screenwash bottle, but I'm slightly confused. The parts manual shows a long bolt on one side and a nut on the other. However my van appears to have nuts on both sides and I can't turn the right-side nut without turning the entire shaft The bright mark is where I unsuccessfully tried to hold it with a pair of pliers Can anyone share their own experience of removing the washer bottle? Thanks Maurice

Hi Maurice,
should be an easy job. Just remove the nuts, or only the left nut, and remove the fillercap. Than you can remove the bottle. Grüße Uli

You're right, I only needed to remove one nut (and the bottle cap) to get the bottle out. The rod nearest the door is the pull rod shown in the parts manual. New pump installed and working, though of course the nozzles need adjustment
The washer fluid bottle, while not blocked, is rather dirty inside, so I'm going to put some gravel and bleach inside and give it a good shake... Maurice
