haven't heared about any owner in france, but its for sure possible. try the owners database in the forum! i would sell my syncro vw to buy a tgb 13 . is there any diesel engine on it ?

originally there is only the volvo 164's engine B30A available, which is a 97 octane super leaded fuel engine. you may need to use additives. anyhow there are some projects converting to diesel engine as well as using LPG liquid gas fuel. a extra diesel convertion thread is available in the forum how much cost a tgb 13 in good condition ?
|
prices start from about 3000€-4000€ in sweden to about 10.000€ in germany. depends on if you want to reimport directly from sweden by yourself or by a external company, which in turn adds aditional margin on the selling price. maybe you ask yankee for a tgb13, you could come to germany then and fetch the car from there to france, which is much cheaper. how much liter of fuel per 100 km on the 6x6 ? with fuel engine ?

mine uses about 20l/100km actually, empty with military rims on. conversion to A/T rims and electronic ignition upgrade reduces to about 16l/100km (perhaps) additionally, it consumes 2l of oil per 1000km. theres a extra thread on this topic.

David Hi, I believe that I have seen a blue C303 in France via the www. It was an ex utility vehicle. I think that some one important it into France as a personal import. The vehicle had been modified for camping. I shall try and remember where it was that I saw it, possibly on WJM pages as he has practically everything on there. I shall try to remember .

thanks all for the help, as i see on the licence plate of the smart this truc is not too far from me , arround 200 km only, but as i see on the truck licence plate is not with french paper .... i think the best for me is to contact directly volvo france and ask them if it's possible in first and then if i could swap the engine by a diesel one.

David, I think that this vehicle may have also recently sold on to an other owner. Do you think that Volvo France might be able to advise on a diesel replacement? I wish you luck and hope that it is only that easy! It would end years of speculating by tens if not hundreds of TGB owners on different web sites around the World wondering and debating what diesels might fit and with what gear box. Their has been a modern Volvo engine matched up to this gear box, but in reality, with diesels, to get the best out of them they require either a dedicated box or some way of increasing the gear ratios, even if that means putting bigger diameter tyres on as a last resort. IMHO perhaps the best way forward is to transplant an engine + gear box + transfer box all together from the same donor vehicle. As has been suggested look at the pages on this forum, there has been lots of debate covering this topic and have a look on the Yahoo Volvo forum, the arguments on the Yahoo site can even get a little bit warm

no i don't want to ask them what i could fit inside, i just want to ask them if they're agree if i make the swap. for the engine in first ( and because i have two of them ) i would fit the vw tdi 5cyl. and bigger tyres.

David Touitou at david@solexine.frIIRC, his main problem was to stay within the French oldtimer-classification for ease of regulations, but still make larger tours outside his rayon. Do you think that Volvo France might be able to advise on a diesel replacement?

Volvo France probably never heard of it (you will be talking to young folks who weren't even born yet at that time), and most likely doesn't want to be involved in any way. (don't even think about Volvo Cars, since all the parts come from the Trucks department....and Truck divisions have even less interest in oldtimer vehicles....)

AND truck division doesn't know about the car either. Its always the same: "...well YES this part number is valid (virtually shaking the head on the telephone in disbelief) ...*small pause* ...but WHAT is that for a truck, i NEVER heard about it,..." try it out
