I can't turn on my headlights via the blue switch.

I can turn on low beam using the auto dip switch (if the engine is running) and I can switch to high beam temporarily by pulling the turn signal lever under the steering wheel.

(Tail lights activate via the blue switch as normal).

Any suggestions?

Many thanks for clarifying the different possibilities. I hopt this will allow us to determine the root cause. Here are the test results:

• Automatic light switch is off, blue switch is off: all lights are off

  • when motor is running (more accurate: when alternator is generating charging current), low beam is on

  • high beam works permanent (on/off triggered by lever); switching state keeps saved, that means if e.g. your headlight is on and you switch the blue switch off, high beam goes off but on again as soon as the vlue swutch is fully on again
    
  • when motor is off, parking lights are on
  
  FAIL When motor is running, low beam is on but cannot switch to high beam, can only flash.

This suggests a problem with the blue switch (unlikely) or the "step relay" (stegrelä). Do you agree?
