Recently received a supposedly NOS wiper motor from Tatanka. Wired it up today it as per the wiring diagram but it parks in the "up" position.
Old on the left, marked SWF 401.524 24V, "new" on the right, marked 401 754 24V and 1 563 149. Parts catalogue lists 1563149 as being for SPCL-3653, which equates to "Zambia 24V". Zambia drives on the left. Do I have a super-rare 24V RHD wiper motor? Now wouldn't that be ironic Thanks Maurice

I asked Tatanka about it, they replied
"Oops! This is not something we have noticed but we were just happy when we got hold of four NOS wiper motors. When it comes to Zambia TGB cars have never been delivered there, TGB cars have only been delivered to Sweden, Malaysia and about 30 special cars to Australia. As for the function, there is not much we can do about it, so I think you can live with it staying in the up position, but if you did have your old engine left, try to compare the mechanics inside and see if it works, to change with the old one as a template." Very unsatisfactory indeed Maurice

Update: Claes (Tatanka) agrees that I can return this motor for a refund or credit against future orders. I will still have paid shipping in both directions plus UK import tax (thanks Brexit ) but I think this is the best achievable outcome.
